2004 Enviro Expo

May 5, 2004
World Trade Center, Boston, MA

The New England Section of the Air and Waste Management Association hosted the Air Track at the 2004 EnviroExpo.

The Air Track addressed two major topics. The morning session addressed a number of recent regulatory changes. The presentations included discussions on the evolving regulatory climate, including changes in interactions between the states and EPA and how the agencies are dealing with budget constraints. It is difficult for facilities to know what they have to do to comply with the air regulations and how to navigate the agencies and this session addressed the policies and standards to ensure that the regulatory requirements are met and the steps to take in dealing with the agencies. The afternoon session addressed regulations governing nuisance conditions of odor and noise. The presentations included a primer on noise monitoring, modeling, and mitigation and methods on sampling for odorous compounds
